Outpatient Building

Outpatient Building

When construction of UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay is completed in 2014, the hospital complex will include an outpatient building serving the needs of our women and children patients. Both inpatient and outpatient services for these patients will be available on the same connected floors. A cancer outpatient building is planned as part of phase 2 of the Mission Bay Hospitals Project, with projected completion in 2020.

With both inpatient and outpatient services, our new hospital complex at Mission Bay will increase our overall patient capacity to meet growing demand, and allow for expansion at all existing UCSF facilities. Like all our facilities at Mission Bay, the outpatient building will capitalize on the pioneering research underway at the adjacent Mission Bay biomedical campus, resulting in breakthroughs that promise to improve countless lives.

Strategically Located

The high volume, 207,400 gross-square-foot outpatient building at Mission Bay has been strategically positioned to reduce any potential noise concerns for our surrounding neighbors. Where the quieter inpatient hospital buildings are located to the south of the complex, nearer to residential areas, the outpatient building will be placed to the north, away from the neighborhood.
