Opening 2015
Acute Care Patient Room
Acute Care Patient Room
A patient’s room in a hospital becomes their home away from home for the duration of their stay. For a child, it is especially important that they truly feel at home, and at peace, in their space. The patient rooms at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital are designed with the accrued experience of a century of research and patient care. Built with the needs of patients, family and staff in mind, our patient rooms provide an unmatched level of care and comfort.

Family Area

The company of loved ones is a vital part of the healing process, especially for a child. At UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital, we have taken steps to make sure families feel comfortable and welcome during their stay. All rooms will be equipped with wireless high-speed Internet, locking storage closets, refrigerators and extendable sofas designed for overnight stays.
Media Wall

Young patients today expect a level of interactivity and communication in their lives. That’s why we have replaced the typical patient TV with our media wall, a high-tech lifeline connecting patients to the outside world. With the media wall, patients and their family members can access educational content, medical records, entertainment, environmental controls, and housekeeping and food services. They can even connect to their classrooms via webcam.
Patient Area

Providing our young patients with personal, expert care and comfort is our highest priority at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. The layout of our pediatric acute care rooms will be set at an angle that optimizes window views, so patients can enjoy the natural scenery around them. Meanwhile, patient bathrooms are designed to facilitate safe and easy movement.
