Putting Patients First

We Put Patients First

There is a reason why our cancer program at UCSF is second to none. It’s the same reason we are the only cancer program in the Bay Area that has been designated a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute, and why we are a world leader in cancer treatment, research and education: We put patients first. At the UCSF Cancer Hospital at Mission Bay, we’ll be able to do even more for our patients.

When the construction of our new cancer hospital finishes in 2014, it will live adjacent to the UCSF Helen Diller Family Cancer Research Building – also located at Mission Bay. Every day at this facility, top scientists and researchers are seeking causes and cures for cancers. With a groundbreaking new cancer hospital right next door, we will be able to bring researchers and clinicians together to not only develop new treatments, but to bring these new treatments to the patient’s bedside more rapidly.

Our UCSF Cancer Hospital at Mission Bay will provide an advanced, sophisticated, efficient, flexible and family-centered healing environment for adults fighting cancer. The cancer surgeries performed here will take advantage of advanced robotic and imaging technology – all in an environment centered on the compassionate care of patients and their families. As the newest addition to the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, our new cancer hospital at Mission Bay will further our fervent commitment to putting patients first.
