Note: UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay, the new 289-bed children's, women's and cancer hospital complex, is composed of three basic physical buildings, which are referred to as follows: (1) Hospital — comprised of the children's, women's and cancer inpatient facilities; (2) Gateway Medical Building — comprised of ambulatory services for pediatric, women, and cancer patients; and (3) Energy Center (EC) —the building facing Third Street that houses the equipment, e.g., boilers, coolers, etc., to run the 878,000 gsf hospital complex.
